Transana 2.42 released

September 2, 2010 -- Transana 2.42 is now available from the Transana web site.

Transana 2.42 revises the way the database tree tab works, allowing the user to make multiple selections in the tree. This allows the user to perform the same action on multiple elements of the same type at the same time. The Synchronization dialog has been revised. The Notes Browser can now be left open in the background, making it easier to modify notes as you are working. There are several additonal features. For more detail, please see the Release Notes.

Voice Recognition Technology fails another test

March 24, 2010 -- Automatic transcription through the use of voice recognition technology. Wouldn't that be cool?

Over the years, we've periodically tested voice recognition software to see if it would be a useful addition to Transana. See how one of the major packages fared in this recent test.

Transana 2.41 released

December 17, 2009 -- Transana 2.41 is now available from the Transana web site.

Transana 2.41 adds a new report called the Collection Keyword Map, a collection-based report similar to the Episode Keyword Map. Scrolling and playback looping have been added to the visualization window. There are several additonal features. For more detail, please see the Release Notes.

Transana 2.40 released

October 19, 2009 -- Transana 2.40 is now available from the Transana web site.

Transana 2.40 adds support for multiple simultaneous media files. This means you can have up to 4 synchronized media files of the same event playing at once, providing multiple perspectives on the events you are studying. There are additional features too numerous to list here. For more details, please see the Release Notes.

Transana 2.30 released

October 29, 2008 -- Transana 2.30 is now available from the Transana web site.

Version 2.30 includes many very exciting new features. For example, Transana can now display multiple transcripts at once, allowing researchers who embed different layers of analysis in different transcripts to do very complex and subtle analyses exploring the interplay of these multiple analytic layers. We have created a new version of Transana for use in computer labs where data cannot be the local computer. Longitudinal analysis is now easier to set up manipulate. We've added a mechanism for adding large video collections to Transana with one command. You can now merge clips. There are new features designed to make creating clips even easier. For more information, please see the release notes.

Transana 2.22 Released

March 5, 2008 -- Transana 2.22 is now available from the Transana Web Site.

Version 2.22 features a number of new features, including the ability to propagate changes to transcripts to clips that include that section, the ability to copy changes in a clip to copies of that clip, and the capacity to show time code information in human readable format. Numerous other minor changes have been made, and a number of bugs have been found and fixed. Please see the release notes for more information on this release.

Transana 2.21 Released

October 15, 2007 -- Transana 2.21 is now available on the Transana web site.

Version 2.21 fetures a complete overhaul of the text-based report infrastructure, making the reports much more flexible, as well as editable and exportable.

This release introduces the Notes Browser, and includes numerous other improvements. See the release notes for more information.

Transana 2.20 Released

April 3, 2007 -- Transana 2.20 is now available on the Transana web site.

The new release has a long list of new features and enhancements. You can read more about it in the release notes . Highlights include:

There's a new, easier way to make clips. Making quick clips has also been streamlined.

The Mac OS X version is now a full release version. Transana finally works on the Mac!

Transana now supports *.MOV and *.MP4 video on both platforms and *.WMV video and *.WMA audio on Windows.

You can replace the Waveform with a visualization that shows your coding.

There is a set of new maps and graphs (designed by Nicolas Sheon) that allow you to explore keyword usage across multiple episodes, allowing a form of longitudinal qualitative analysis.

You can export clip data for statistical analysis.

And much more, of course.
